Many fans of the popular Hamilton musical may not realize that the island mentioned in the show is indeed Nevis, but now, visitors can experience where it all started for this historic figure.
Yvette Thomas-Henry, Regional Vice President and General Manager, emphasizes the island’s rich history, noting that much of Charlestown, Nevis’s capital, remains unchanged since Hamilton’s time, allowing visitors to truly feel the legacy of this place.
The Alexander Hamilton package, starting at USD 9,660 per night, includes a USD 1,000 per person resort credit, which can be used for dining, activities, and unique experiences. Guests will enjoy a private rum pairing dinner, a movie night with dinner under the stars, a historical botanical tour with Guest Experience Director Mac Kee France, and a Hamilton-style portrait painting session to take home.
Staying in the Alexander Hamilton Suite is a key part of this package. Recently redesigned, the suite is light and airy, blending the charm of Nevis with Caribbean touches, like botanical wallpaper and chairs featuring the island’s green vervet monkey. The 1,761 square foot (164 square metre) suite is perfect for entertaining, with a dining table for eight and an expansive patio for enjoying the Caribbean breeze.
After completing a four-day “”Vacation in Place”” period, guests can explore the island, including a visit to Hamilton’s birthplace, just 10 minutes from the resort in Charlestown. The Hamilton House, a two-story stone building overlooking Charlestown Harbour, was built around 1680, destroyed in an 1840 earthquake, and restored in 1983. It now houses a museum on the first floor and the Nevis House of Assembly on the second.
The package also includes a donation to the Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS foundation, which supports those affected by HIV/AIDS, COVID-19, and other serious illnesses.
