“The historic Palace of Versailles is about to become the site of a luxurious hotel and restaurant, overseen by the renowned French chef Alain Ducasse. Ducasse’s company, Lov Hotel Collection, is spearheading the project to transform three buildings on the royal grounds: the Grand Contrôle, the Petit Contrôle, and the Pavillon des premières cent marches. These buildings, located in the southeastern area of the palace, originally served as the king’s Ministry of Finance and a military mess for soldiers since the 17th century.
Once home to royals like Marie Antoinette and Louis XIV, the palace will soon host a luxury boutique hotel designed to transport guests back to the opulent style of the 18th century. The hotel will feature around 20 rooms and a fine dining restaurant, offering a truly regal experience.
Set to open in 2018, the buildings, spanning 2,800 square meters, will undergo a $16 million renovation. This addition will surely give affluent travelers another reason to plan a trip to France.”
