“The iconic Paris Ritz hotel is set to reopen in June following extensive renovations, delayed by three months due to a fire that broke out on its top floor earlier this month. The hotel, which has been closed since 2012 for a complete refurbishment, is renowned for hosting legendary figures such as Charlie Chaplin, Coco Chanel, and Ernest Hemingway.

Located in the prestigious Place Vendome in the heart of Paris, the Ritz is also remembered as the place where Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed dined before their tragic car accident in 1997. Originally scheduled to reopen on March 14, the hotel’s plans were pushed back after the January 19 fire. Thankfully, no one was injured, but it took firefighters several hours to bring the blaze under control.

A hotel spokesperson has now confirmed that the much-anticipated reopening will take place in early June, with an exact date to be announced soon. The Ritz, which first opened its doors in 1898, was founded by Swiss entrepreneur Cesar Ritz and is currently owned by Egyptian billionaire Mohamed Al Fayed, Dodi Fayed’s father. The estimated €140 million ($150 million) renovation aims to rejuvenate the historic hotel, ensuring it meets the expectations of its affluent clientele.”
